A Bit About Me

My name is Shelby! I'm a barrel racing Firefighter from "small town Alberta", & I've been involved in the horse world for as long as I could remember. It all started from the dad that bought his daughter the pony. (Thanks Dad!) As the years went on, I dipped my toes into many different disciplines. From English & Jumping, to my local 4-H Club and mountain riding, competitive barrel racing, to most recently, Breakaway Roping & Team Penning. No matter the discipline, one thing always remained adamant in my mind...The absolute desire and need to continually learn about our Equine Partners health and well-being! Now, as a mother of my own daughter & hauling her down the road, barrel race to barrel race, ensuring that I know the most safe & efficient way to tend to our horses in any given emergency situation until I can get to my Vet is so very important. Being a first responder, it was brought to my attention quicky the amount of horse/livestock owners that actually do not have a real emergency plan set in place, nor do many actually know how to handle an emergency situation when it involves their animals. It did not take long for me to fall in love for what Equi-Health stands for & the opportunities that opened for myself and my family. By traveling across North America teaching fellow equine owners & enthusiast the importance & methods of Equine First Aid, I get to play a small role in improving our equine partners lives, & maybe even playing a small part in saving one's life in the long run! I hope to see you down the road!
